Handball Week - Camp & Conference

Mago di Umago – the modern handball website, in cooperation with Ivano Balić and Venio Losert, and under the patronage of the City of Novigrad, in the period from the 2nd to 8th April 2018, is organizing a handball camp for girls and boys born between 2000 and 2007, a conference and a round table to discuss the issues of handball and sports in general.

The Evening of Olympic Winners will also be organized as part of the conference, featuring some of the biggest names in the history of Croatian sports, all of them Olympic gold medallists.

This is not just another ordinary handball camp!

The participants are going to learn about handball from the world famous players, former national team players and medallists (Ivano Balić, Venio Losert, Vedran Mataija, Dalibor Anušić), foreign coaches (Xavi Sabate, Josep Maria Espar), as well as from new generation of young Croatian coaches, winners of state championships (Igor Marijanović, Matej Mišković).

The camp is organized accordingly to a boarding school methodology which means that one will gain theoretical and practical knowledge about the proper nutrition (athlete's diet), sports psychology (mental preparation of athletes), physical preparation, and also about prevention and rehabilitation of sports injuries. It will take place in the new sports hall.

HANDBALL CAMP PROGRAMME

Practical part (technique and practical means)

• Individual (passing, bluffing, shooting, a player’s movement in defence, goalkeeper’s play)
  
  
• Group (back court players – wings, back court players’ activities, back court players - pivot, cross from Valladolid, defensive zones: 3-2-1, 5-1, 6-0, weightlifting, gym ...)

Theoretical part

• Group (mental training, prevention and rehabilitation of sports injuries, sports nutrition ...)

In order to keep the quality of camp's programme performance the number of participants is limited and the registration will be stopped upon reaching the maximum capacity!
