The fabulous days of winter, as these typically experienced in Istria in January along its shore facing the Adriatic Sea, are perfect for practicing recreational activities, especially cycling. After the New Year's holidays and the Befana (an Italian tradition which celebrates Epiphany using the character of an old witch, the Befana, who brings gifts to children) the northwestern part of Istria will host the Befana’s bicycle ride!
On Sunday, the 6th of January, the recreational Befana's bicycle ride will take place in the Bujština area. Everyone is welcome to come, kids as well as all lovers of recreation.
The Befana's bicycle ride will take place on dirt roads and forest paths and the total length of the route is approximately 35 km. The ride starts and ends in the small village of Marušići, in the vicinity of Buje. The starting point is at the community center of the village at 11 am, and the participation fee is 40 kn per person. At the end of the bike tour there will be a lunch organized for everyone.
