With a thirty-year tradition, the international Plava Laguna Croatia Open Umag is the oldest tennis tournament in Croatia, and is undoubtedly one of the most esteemed and prestigious tournaments in the region.

It always stands out in the ATP calendar as a place of world-class tennis peppered with a rich side programme of tourist, gourmet and entertainment events.

The celebratory 30th edition of the tournament, held from 12 to 21 July 2019, will once again make Umag the center of one of the most important social events in Croatia, drawing not only Croatia's top players but also its political, business and show business elite.

Borna Ćorić and Fabio Fognini have both confirmed their participation in the tournament, two cult exhibition matches are being prepared, and the entertainment programme will feature top acts including Tony Cetinski and famous DJs. The most delicious Istrian delicacies and wines will serve as yet another reason to come, allowing visitors to enjoy both amazing tennis and world-class cuisine at a large number of food points.

A live rerun of cult tennis matches

The first exhibition spectacle on 13 July will start the programme for this year's ATP symbolically, as it will bring two tennis greats together once again – Goran Ivanišević and Goran Prpić. The two of them played in the finals of the Umag tournament way back in 1990, beginning the magical tennis story of Stella Maris. This match will be the best possible intro to this year's celebratory edition of the ATP tournament.

The second exhibition match will be held on Wednesday 17 July between Goran Ivanišević and Patrick Rafter. It will be a unique opportunity to watch a live replay of the legendary Wimbledon 2001 final, which is written indelibly in the memory of all tennis and sports lovers worldwide, especially Croatian fans. This rematch will bring back lovely memories of the success that wrote Goran into the history books, winning the hearts of millions of fans worldwide.

Every year, the tournament and its side programme draw more than 100,000 guests, turning Umag into an international center of tennis, beauty, fun, socializing, and the flavors and scents of Istria.
